The ever-burgeoning success of the So You Think You're Funny competition for aspirant stand-ups, as run by Scottish comedy's greatest enthusiast and protector, Viking laff-goddess Karen Koren, of the Gilded Balloon. Highlights of 1993? Successfully evading - for a second year - being broadcast on Festival FM. "It's all a load of nonsense really," says Dylan about his victory, "although the money helps an awful lot because up until now I've been living on bags of peanuts here in Edinburgh." As part of the prize, he has been booked into the Comedy Store in London. Dylan Moran (21) from Navan, Co Meath, won the So You Think You're Funny competition for first-time performers at the festival, coming first of 120 entrants and winning 1,500. An Irish comic has won a major award at the Edinburgh International Arts Festival, Brian Boyd reports.
